What do we mean by “cruelty-free”?
At IRIS MAREE, “cruelty-free” means no animals are harmed in the making of our designs. We do not use leather or animal-derived materials. Instead, we craft each piece from Kayla Fabric®, our in-house innovation designed to embody the character and quality of leather while remaining entirely animal-free.
What is Kayla Fabric®, and what is it made of?
Kayla Fabric® is our proprietary material developed in-house. It is a high-end, cruelty-free alternative to leather - durable, soft, and elevated in finish. Made from ultra-thin recycled polyesterthreads, woven in a three-layer structure, and finished with innovative coatings, Kayla Fabric® is PVC-free, water- and stain-resistant, and produced with zero waste. It doesn’t just replace leather—it redefines what’s possible when fashion cares for the earth.
Where can I find product details?
Each handbag has its own dedicated product page with details on dimensions, weight, fabric, hardware, and care instructions. For styling inspiration, you’ll also find editorial imagery on our website and our Instagram.
How do I care for my IRIS MAREE bag?
Kayla Fabric® is designed for longevity. Simply wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth. Store your bag in its protective dust bag to preserve its beauty over time.
Are your bags made sustainably?
Yes. Beyond being cruelty-free, our bags are designed in Amsterdam and crafted in European family-owned ateliers in limited quantities. This ensures ethical production, traceability, and a mindful approach to fashion.

What is IRIS MAREE, and who is behind the brand?
IRIS MAREE is a luxury handbag brand founded by Iris Maree in Amsterdam. Rooted in her personal identity journey, the brand explores individuality and authenticity while redefining what luxury can be — cruelty-free, beautiful, and timeless.
What does the brand stand for?
We stand for cruelty-free without compromise. Every handbag is a reflection of self-expression, responsibility, and refined taste. Our vision is to offer high-quality, beautiful leather alternative designs that match leather in all aspects of the material without harming animals in the process. We’re on a mission to change an entire industry that’s been built on practices that need to end.
Where are IRIS MAREE bags made?
All IRIS MAREE bags are crafted in European family-owned ateliers in Italy and Portugal, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and ethical production.
Why the name “IRIS MAREE”?
The brand is named after its founder, Iris Maree, who envisioned a project for which she could take full creative responsibility. It started with a personal journey and a shared invitation to embrace authenticity. Discover her full story on the About page.
Order & Payment
How can I place an order?
Orders can be placed directly through our website. Once you’ve selected your desired handbag, simply follow the checkout steps to confirm payment and shipping details. In case of specific questions or issues, please contact us at info@irismaree.com.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, and select regional payment options at checkout. All transactions are secure and encrypted.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If you wish to modify or cancel your order, please contact us at info@irismaree.com as soon as possible. Once your order has been dispatched, changes can no longer be made.
Do you offer gift packaging?
Yes. All IRIS MAREE bags arrive in our signature packaging, always including a dust bag for each bag. Gift notes can also be added during checkout.
Shipping, Delivery & Returns
Where do you ship?
We ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times will be calculated at checkout based on your location.
How long will delivery take?
All orders are sent within 2 working days after receipt of payment. The customer receives a tracking code by e-mail once the order has been dispatched. Delivery times may change due to national holidays, strikes, natural disasters and unforeseen courier delays. We do our utmost best to deliver your order within the estimated time frame.
Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days. Delivery times vary by region:
- Netherlands next working day
- Belgium / Luxembourg next working day
- Europe (EU) 1 - 3 working days
- Rest of the world (non-EU) varies from 2-5 working days
- United Kingdom varies from 2-5 working days
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking link.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the bag is unused, in original condition, and accompanied by its dust bag and packaging. For instructions, please contact our customer care team.
Do you offer exchanges?
Currently, we do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to try a different style, please return your item for a refund and place a new order.
Guarantee & Repair
What does IRIS MAREE guarantee cover?
At IRIS MAREE, we strive to create long-lasting designs. If a problem arises, our two-year warranty on bags has you covered. Our expert craftsmen repair all products to guarantee lasting quality. To have your product repaired, please contact our customer service department at info@irismaree.com and include a copy of your receipt. While not all repairs are possible, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
This warranty only applies if the product's usability is negatively affected by a material or manufacturing defect. It does not apply if the usability is limited by improper or incorrect use, or by external causes such as the use of incorrect cleaning agents, impregnation, or textile dye after purchase. These cases are not covered by the warranty.

IRIS MAREE doesn’t follow traditional fashion seasons or trends. Instead, we carry an ongoing collection suitable for all seasons and occasions that never goes on sale. Durability and resilience are important to us, and we want you to enjoy your bag for years to come.
To ensure our last pieces don't remain in the dark, we organize an archive event twice per year where you can find our designs at reduced prices. Join our newsletter and follow us on Instagram to be the first to know when and where our archive event will take place.
